Digital Imaging & PhotographyThe photography major provides a rich experience in photographic media, across a wide range of applications. The major extends from documentary work in the field to large format studio photography, and from digital photography to classical nonsilver techniques. These activities are bound together by an abiding passion for photographic vision and a keen interest in the academic studies that parallel, inform, and enrich creative practice. The program includes technical learning, engagement with the history of the field, and contemporary critical perspectives. The course of study involves intensive studio learning in the junior year, followed by directed independent research that culminates in a senior thesis portfolio. Our facilities feature the full range of current photographic practice.
